Frequently asked questions.
What is phone counselling like?
Most people experience both pros and cons with phone counselling.
Here are a few pieces my clients are telling me:
Pros: No commute to or from counselling. Being in a familiar space with your favourite warm beverage, your own cozy blankets, and perhaps your pet. Ability to do counselling on your lunch break. Not being observed- you can pick your nose whenever you want! Not having to stare into yet another screen. Ability to move as we talk- think headphones and a walk in a park.
Cons: You have to find your own space that is private and comfortable. We can’t see each other’s body language. There isn’t a natural transition from one thing to another that is built in with the commute.
Are you offering video counselling?
Generally, I’m not able to offer video counselling at this time as I have reduced screen capacity due to migraines. If you would like to ‘meet’ for a couple minutes by video I am happy to do that, however I am unable to offer consistent video sessions.
Are your services covered by my extended health plan?
Some insurance companies cover sessions with Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC). Please check to see if your plan offers this coverage. I will offer you a receipt you can use for reimbursement.
Do you offer in person counselling?
I offer in person counselling at 101- 1416 Commercial Drive on Monday mornings and Tuesday between 4-8pm.
Can I book a session online?
Yes, you can do that here.
